Moldovan fine artist celebrates birthday

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/- Fine artist Ecaterina Ajder, associate professor at the Department of Decorative Art of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of the State Pedagogical University Ion Creanga in Chisinau, Master of Arts, celebrates today 60th birth anniversary.
According to art critic Eleonora Brigalda, president of the Association of Visual Arts Teachers, Ecaterina Ajder is a reference name in contemporary art in the Republic of Moldova.
Ecaterina Ajder said that lately, she has made several works of painting, tapestry and textile art and has worked as a teacher. In 2020, she participated with three monumental works of textile art (tapestry, felt, embroidery, textile collage) in the exhibitions Saloons of Moldova, Autumnal and the National Biennial of Decorative Art.
Ecaterina Ajder was born on 11 March 1961 in Cahul. She studied at the School of Fine Arts for children in Cahul (1972-1976), the Republican College of Fine Arts Alexandru Plămădeală in Chisinau, Department of Painting (1976-1980) and at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Pedagogical University of State Ion Creanga (1980-1985).
She has been awarded several prizes at various national and international competitions. She had exhibitions in the country and abroad. Ecaterina Ajder's works are in public and private collections in Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, Russia, Venezuela, USA, Israel, France, Canada, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Great Britain.
