Political executive of Socialist Party convened in meeting

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/- The political executive of the Socialist Party convened in a meeting today to decide on actions to be taken by the party in the next period. PSRM reiterated the position to support a government led by Mariana Durleșteanu and announced that it is ready to discuss other solutions proposed by the other parliamentary factions, and to participate in a constructive dialogue with the country's president.

PSRM is ready to contribute together with the other parties to the good management of the pandemic crisis.

"Once the pandemic situation is stabilized and citizens are safe, we are ready for a new dialogue leading to the establishment of the date and the way in which the early elections are organized", the decision of the political executive reads.

The party members also decided that the Socialist MPs will boost in the coming days the communication with the factions in the Parliament to find an effective political solution, which will ensure a good management of the pandemic crisis.

"PSRM remains firmly in a position to support a government led by Mariana Durleșteanu, the candidate proposed by the political majority formed in Parliament on 11 February and will initiate new actions in the coming days to ensure the nomination of the candidate for prime minister. PSRM is ready to discuss other solutions proposed by other parliamentary factions, and to participate in a constructive dialogue with the country's president. In order to avoid the escalation of the political situation, PSRM will initiate several legal actions meant to bring back the political processes in the constitutional field and to determine the presidential institution to respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court. Among these actions will be the initiation of procedures provided by the country's Constitution, addresses to the Constitutional Court, the Council of Europe, the Venice Commission ", the decision reads.

The PSRM leadership reiterated that the party remains on the position that this Parliament must be dissolved and snap polls organized. However, this will be possible only after the stabilization of the epidemiological situation, the provision of anti-COVID vaccine to the population.
