Commemorative exhibition by fine artist open at Chisinau museum

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/- A commemorative exhibition - Graphics by fine artist Ghenadie Zâcov was opened today at the National Museum of Art of Moldova on the 90th birth anniversary.
Institution director Tudor Zbârnea said that the exhibition presents 30 works from the collection of the National Museum of Art of Moldova.
According to the official, during his life, Ghenadie Zâcov made a precious series of works in color linocut, representing the fortresses of Hotin, Soroca, Cetatea Albă, Țâpova and Japca monasteries.
In 1959 he contributed to the founding of the Tiraspol Art Gallery, the Ethnographic Museum, the Art School, the art fund workshops, the restoration of the theater, and the organization of the Society of Fine Artists in the city.
He practiced the field of graphics, painting, restoration and scenography. Since 1998 he has been working as a restorer in the scientific laboratory Archeology of the State University of Tiraspol, where he manages to restore a large part of the exhibits held today by the Museum of Archeology of the University.
His works are preserved in many museum collections in the Republic of Moldova. Ghenadie Zâcov passed away on 27 May 2013 and was buried in Tiraspol.
The exhibition will be open until 11 April.
