Moldovan journalist passed away yesterday

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/- Journalist Raisa Ciobanu, general secretary of the editorial of the weekly Literatura şi Arta (Literature and Art), holder of the Order of the Republic, passed away yesterday at the age of 69, after a serious and long illness.

The announcement was made public on social networks by publicist and associate professor Romeo Șcerbina.

Raisa Ciobanu was born on 2 January 1952 in Hârtopul Mare village, Criuleni district. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the State University of Moldova. She collaborated with the magazines Nistru and Orizontul. For decades, she was employed at the weekly Literature and Art, where she coordinated the editorial activity and wrote up-to-date materials. On November 11, 2016, she was awarded the Order of the Republic.
