Supreme Security Council convened in meeting

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu convened today an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Security Council to discuss the serious pandemic situation in our country. The meeting was attended by representatives of the government, parliament and other state institutions responsible for managing the pandemic, the presidential press service has reported.
"Because it is a matter of state security and national interest, I considered it appropriate to invite to this meeting all decision-makers, including leaders of factions in parliament, heads of state institutions in health and public order, representatives of World Health Organization ", Sandu said.
CSS members heard more reports and various scenarios and decision options. The views of those involved in the discussions were varied. According to experts, every week, the human losses of our country are equivalent to the fall of a plane full of people and we must make responsible decisions to slow down the spread of the virus.
"We communicated to those present our vision of how we can stop the spread of the virus. The actions we recommend to the Government and Parliament are found in today's decision of the Supreme Security Council, which will be made public. The position of the Presidency and the majority of CSS members is to recommend the establishment of a state of emergency for two weeks ", she said.
CSS also recommended the government that within three days, draw up a list of restrictions to be imposed, the activities and categories of citizens who will be subject to these restrictions and the compensation they will receive from the state, and submit these proposals to parliament.
