Moldovan composer, conductor would have turned 79 years

Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/- Composer, conductor and instrumentalist Mihai Dolgan, former leader of Noroc band and of the vocal-instrumental group Contemporanul, People's Artist, holder of the Order of the Republic would have turned 79 years old today.
He was born on March 14, 1942, in the village of Vladimirești, Sangerei district. In 1959-1962 he studied at the Ștefan Neaga College of Music in Chisinau. He began his musical career in 1958, at the House of Culture in Sângerei, accompanying the accordion, later being an accordionist in various bands of the Chisinau Philharmonic.
In 1977, Mihai Dolgan was awarded the title Honored Artist, in 1988 - People's Artist. In 2001, he was awarded the Order of the Republic. Mihai Dolgan passed away on 16 March 2008, in Chisinau. He was buried in the Central Cemetery on Armenească Street in the capital. On 12 October 2018, in memory of the composer and performer of light music, Mihai Dolgan, a square was inaugurated at the intersection of bd. Stefan cel Mare with Bulgarian Street in the capital.
