Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - A book titled, ”PROFESORUL. Ștefan Sevastian Bulat. In memoriam”, (Teacher. Stefan Sevastian Bulat. In memoriam) by writer Eugenia Bulat has recently been edited at a publishing house from Chisinau.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Eugenia Bulat said that the volume had 450 pages. ‘’These are my memories about my unforgettable teacher and his sense in my destiny. The book contains interviews with the members of the family of teacher Bulat, which were reduced to beggary, after the expropriation and deportation of both sides’ parents to Siberia. Also, the work comprise the turning to account of the notebooks left from the teacher and interviews with valuable disciples, former colleagues and teachers,’’ the writer said.
Teacher Stefan Bulat was born in the Sireti village, central Straseni district, on 1 May 1924. It was a wonder that he escaped from the wave of deportations from 6 July 1949. Persecuted as son of kulak all his life long, being a gifted teacher of Romanian language, Stefan Bulat understood his role of teacher as an activity of dissidence for the sake of preserving the national Romanian identity of his disciples. Well-educated, the pupils of the famous teacher were supplying the rows of the new intellectuality from Chisinau, which was Russified at the level of 80 per cent, from the 1970s-80s. Thus, the activity of teacher Bulat fits into the book of National Resistance from Bessarabia of 1970s. Poet Eugenia Bulat is among the disciples of teacher Bulat, educated at the secondary school from Sadova, Calarasi district, during the 30 years of pedagogic work.
Eugenia Bulat was born in Sadova, Calarasi, on 19 September 1956. She graduated from the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University from Chisinau.
During 2007-2012, Eugenia Bulat exiled herself to Italy (Venice), where she continued to write and launch books, further promoting the historical truth of Bessarabia, separated from its Mother Country, Romania.
Eugenia Bulat deputed with a volume of poems in 1994.
In 2010, she was awarded the Order of the Republic.
