Chisinau residents to be fined if they do not wear protective mask

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau residents who will not wear a face mask in public places will be fined.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban demanded today at the online meeting of the municipal services, harsher sanctions against those who do not comply with the measures to prevent infections with COVID-19. Thus, law enforcers will raid markets, shops, restaurants and cafes and fine those who do not wear masks.

Among the measures recommended by the Extraordinary Public Health Commission to avoid the spread of COVID-19 is the wearing of a protective mask in closed and open spaces. "Wearing protective masks becomes an essential mandatory and indispensable measure during the pandemic period, an essential element of community responsibility and solidarity," Ceban said.
