Moldovan head of state, representatives of Janssen Pharmaceutica company discuss possibility to get vaccine

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today afternoon discussed online with representatives of Janssen Pharmaceutica – a company held by Johnson & Johnson. The vaccine against Covid-19, produced by this company, is approved and used in the USA and several days ago, it was approved by the European Medicines Agency and homologated by the World Health Organization, the presidential press service has reported.

„I informed them about the pandemic situation in Moldova and about the efforts made to supply the country with vaccine. We considered possibility for our citizens to benefit from this preparation – either through the COVAX platform or directly,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The head of state gave assurances that, along with the team of the Presidency, she would continue discussing with Moldova’s partners and producing companies, in order to ensure the Moldovan citizens’ access to vaccines of more types.
