Over 17,000 citizens requested ambulance last week

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- On 8-14 March, 17,000 requests for emergency medical assistance were registered at the Dispatch Department of the National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance. 6,315 patients were transported to hospital medical institutions in the country, of which 712 children.

According to the Center, the top of the requests continue to predominate those caused by respiratory emergencies - 6097 requests, followed by cardiovascular emergencies - 2864 requests, including 44 patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome and neurological emergencies - 1832 requests, including 219 strokes cerebral.

During the same period, 34 road accidents were registered, as a result of which 41 people were injured and received emergency medical care. Subsequently, 33 patients were transported to the emergency.

Also last week, 41 calls were received at the Emergency Service due to toxic emergencies. The ambulance teams provided first aid to eight people who were intoxicated with carbon monoxide or dioxide, nine people who suffered alcohol intoxication and 14 persons intoxicated with drugs.
