Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- Today's Official Journal published the government's decision on allocation of financial means for the procurement of the vaccine against COVID-19.
"60 million lei is allocated from the government's reserve fund to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection for the procurement of the vaccine against COVID-19", the decision reads.
"From a financial point of view, the expenses for carrying out the decision will be 60 000.0 thousand lei for 338 600 doses (estimated price 10 dollars), which represented about 24.4% of the necessary 1,386 115 doses. According to estimates made by the National Agency for Public Health, 4 851 403 doses are needed to reach the target of 70% of the vaccinated population.
Given that 1,386,115 doses (for 20% of the population) will be obtained free of charge through COVAX, 2,079,173 doses (for 30 % population) will need to be procured through COVAX at a low price, the remaining 1,386,115 doses (for 20% population) need to be procured by the country ", the document reads.
The control over the execution of the decision will be the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, and the decision entered into force today with publication in the Official Journal.
