Almost 15,000 employees in medical system vaccinated against COVID-19

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- A number of 14,814 employees in the medical system has been vaccinated against COVID-19. The leadership of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection made the statement today.

So far, about 18,000 doses have been distributed in medical institutions in the country from the batches coming from Romania and from the COVAX platform. Data about each vaccinated person are entered in an online register, which also generates a vaccination certificate, as well as reminder messages for booster doses.

To date, 334 adverse effects have been registered among immunized individuals. Most are moderate reactions, including fever, chills, weakness and pain at the injection site.

MSMPS specialist Ninel Revenco said that the vaccine administered in the Republic of Moldova, AstraZeneca, is safe, and new batches of vaccine are expected by the end of this month and in April.

The MSMPS management announces that the situation on COVID-19 infection is alarming and urges the medical staff to be immunized and the population to comply with the prevention measures.
