Moldovan acting PM, Foreign Investors' Association consider current situation of business environment

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today had a meeting with representatives of the Foreign Investors’ Association (FIA) from Moldova. A string of subjects were on the agenda: pandemic situation, import of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine, activity of the HORECA sector, decision-making predictability and transparency, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The leaders of the most important foreign companies which carry out their activity in Moldova informed about the difficulties they were facing.
The FIA representatives said they were working in conditions of pandemic, with a minimal number of employees and with the observance of all epidemiological norms. Most directors of companies expressed willingness to vaccinate the staff on first occasion. Moreover, the FIA members asked to put enhanced emphasis on the promotion of measures of sanitary safety and prevention among the residents, as well as the carrying out of information campaigns on the importance of the vaccination.
Aureliu Ciocoi appreciated the business people’s efforts to maintain a balance in the economy on such a complicated period, triggered by the spread of Covid-19. The prime minister set forth the present situation as to the degree of spread of the virus, as well as the measures undertaken nationally to combat the pandemic.
The acting PM expressed openness for maintaining a dialogue with the members of the Foreign Investors’ Association, in order to identify legal solutions to the problems faced by the foreign companies in Moldova.
