Moldovan president nominates Igor Grosu as candidate for PM office

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has nominated Igor Grosu as candidate for the office of prime minister. The head of state announced the decision following the consultations with the parliamentary factions.

„I took note of the decision by Mrs. Mariana Durlesteanu to withdraw her candidacy for the position of PM. Taking into account that, for the moment, there is no candidate backed by an absolute formalized parliamentary majority, I ruled to nominate Igor Grosu as candidate for the office of Moldova’s prime minister. I asked Mr. Grosu to prepare the programme and the governance team, with which he is to go to parliament,’’ Maia Sandu said.

Today, the head of state had consultations with all parliamentary factions and groups.
