As many as 1,688 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 4,659 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,688 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which 13 import ones. As many as 207,012 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 72 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 15, medical assistants –43 and auxiliary staff -14.

As many as 4,411 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 335 are in extremely serious condition (69 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 10,884 persons are treated at home with easy and moderate forms of coronavirus and 19,548 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,289 people have been treated. As many as 180,763 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 33 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,402 people have died of coronavirus in all.
