Hydrologists warn about intensive water flows on slopes in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced a hydrological warning of formation of intensive flows on slopes in most regions of Moldova till 18 March.

According to SHS hydrologists, given the meteorological warning as to the heavy precipitation (15-29 litres/square metre) in most regions, they announced intensive flows on some small rivers and in low places on slopes with risk of local floods.

„The local public administration, economic agents, which have reservoirs in subordination, are warned to pay attention to the state of dams, bridges and ways of water’s evacuation,’’ SHS said.

The State Hydrometeorological Service informed about Yellow Code of complicated weather conditions for 16-18 March. According to meteorologists, precipitation is expected, preponderantly rains, switching to sleet, heavy ones in more regions (15-49 litres/square metre).

In the next 24 hours, the air temperature will increase to +6 Celsius degrees during the day and will drop to -2 degrees at night.
