Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - More than 4,000 pupils from Moldova cannot participate in the distance education, as they do not have the needed technology and connection to the Internet, Education, Culture and Research Minister Lilia Pogolsa has said.
„According to the present data we hold, we can regretfully find out that 4,300 people cannot fully take part in the online education process, the reasons for this being the lack of computer technology and of the connection to Internet,’’ the official said at a news briefing today.
„We everybody understands the economic conditions of Moldova, the challenges faced by a good deal of our families. Or, the Education, Culture and Research Ministry will take all measures to counsel these pupils as to the continuation and full approaching of the individualized education process through carrying out syllabi on the recovery of the contents only with these pupils’ physical presence,’’ Lilia Pogolsa said.
According to the Education Ministry, ‘’there is every conviction that the administration of the three activity scenarios will allow us involving a larger number of pupils in the education process; yet, we are certainly concerned about the situation of each child separately.’’
Presently, the Moldovan schools work according to the three scenarios proposed by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission, which allowed resuming the education process in Moldova as of 16 March. Thus, the education is carried out depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in each settlement. At present, over 53 per cent of the pupils study with physical presence in classrooms and the rest – online or in mixed regime.
