As many as 1,797 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 5,407 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,797 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which seven import ones. As many as 210,725 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 67 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 18, medical assistants –28 and auxiliary staff -21.

As many as 4,425 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 331 are in extremely serious condition (79 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 10,939 persons are treated at home with easy and moderate forms of coronavirus and 20,239 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,412 people have been treated. As many as 183,520 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 36 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,472 people have died of coronavirus in all.
