Retired teachers employed under contract to benefit from paid annual leave

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/- Teachers in educational institutions, employed under the individual fixed-term employment contract for at least one year of study or one academic year will benefit from paid annual leave and holiday allowance.

The draft amendment to Article 299 of the Labor Code was voted on today in two readings by Parliament and is the result of consultations of women deputies from the Common Platform for Dialogue of Women Deputies with elected women in local public authorities held in March .

The draft notes that there is currently a frequent violation of the right to paid annual leave for teachers with the status of pensioners due to the incorrect application of the Labor Code by some employers. Thus, the promotion of the project will ensure the unitary implementation of the normative framework in the field of labor relations regarding the employees in the education system.
