As many as 1,843 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 5,479 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,843 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which nine import ones. As many as 212,568 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.
According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 63 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 13, medical assistants –26 and auxiliary staff -24.
As many as 4,488 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 336 are in extremely serious condition (72 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).
In the context, 11,666 persons are treated at home with easy and moderate forms of coronavirus and 20,602 are under supervision at home.
Another 1,585 people have been treated. As many as 185,105 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.
At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 29 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,501 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a family physician from the Bilicenii Vechi village and a medical assistant of the Cahul Emergency Medical Assistance Substation. Ninety nine medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
