Moldovan parliament's juridical commission to suggest that legislative body strips two MPs off immunity

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament’s juridical commission for rules and immunities will suggest that the legislative body strips off immunity and gives agreement to the detaining, arresting search and sending to court of two MPs of the Shor Party, Denis Ulanov and Petru Jardan.
According to a member of this commission, Sergiu Litvinenco, as a result of the secret vote, the commission’s lawmakers will propose to the parliament to strip off immunity and give agreement to the detaining, arresting, search and sending to court of MP Petru Jardan. The parliament’s plenum must approve the report of the juridical commission for rules and immunities, so that the aforementioned measures enter into force.
„Also the case of the second episode imputed to Denis Ulanov (Articles 30, 33, 42, paragraph (5), 190 (paragraph (5) of the Criminal Code), the juridical commission, following the secret vote (seven votes), suggests that the parliament has a fourable voting for lifting the immunity and agrees to detain, arrest, search and send him to court,’’ the lawmaker of the Action and Solidarity Party, Sergiu Litvinenco, wrote on his official page.
After the commission’s meeting, the two MPs of the Shor Party said they did not intend to leave Moldova and that they regretted that speculations were made on this subject. Also, Ulanov and Jardan said that the charges brought against them were groundless and they were ready to prove their innocence, just as the law sees.
On 19 March, Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo came to parliament to demand the lifting of the immunity of the aforementioned two MPs.
