Anticorruption officers raided Ghidighici city hall

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- A corruption scheme, implemented by several public figures of Ghidighici city hall was revealed by the National Anticorruption Center / CNA /. The officers conducted 23 searches in the morning at the offices and homes of eight suspects, and they will be escorted to the CNA headquarters.

According to CNA data, law enforcers are investigating the scheme in 38 criminal cases, connected in a procedure, and the main extras are suspected of acts of corruption, manifested by legalizing for a fee some buildings within Ghidighici commune.

According to the evidence, the chief architect was the person who managed this network, consisting of officials from other authorities and in exchange for sums of money, ensured the completion of permissive documents for the construction or final reception of works, for the release and speeding up town planning certificates, building permits, necessary permits, as well as for the distribution of land or changing their status.

The law enforcers determined that the chief architect allegedly demanded money for services, claiming that he would have influence over the members of the Commission for urbanism and rural development and local councilors. At the same time, in the process of preparing the package of documents, site managers, designers, technical managers, employees of OCT Chisinau, as well as economic agents were allegedly involved.

At this time, four people were escorted to the CNA for hearing and will be detained for 72 hours. If found guilty, they risk up to 10 years in prison, a criminal fine and deprivation of the right to hold public office for a certain period.
