As many as 1,060 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of  2,909 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,060 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which three import ones. As many as 216,094 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.    

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 30 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 9, medical assistants –12 and auxiliary staff -9.

As many as 4,563 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 343 are in extremely serious condition (72 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 12,150 persons are treated at home with easy and moderate forms of coronavirus and 21,130 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,512 people have been treated. As many as 189,875 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 31 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,590 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed two physicians and one medical assistant. So far, 102 medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
