Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - A Moldovan from the Ungheni city is prosecuted under the Criminal Code for the presenting of a fake PCR Covid-19 test. The Moldovan citizen recognized that the test had been processed through intermediaries against a sum of 200 euros.
According to data by General Inspectorate of the Border Police, on 22 March, police from the Criva border crossing point identified a young man in the flow of passengers, who was returning home from Ukraine. In order not to be placed in self-isolation, the 30-year-old man presented a negative PCR Covid-19 test at the border checking. While investigating the concerned document, it seemed strange to the border inspector that the person left Moldova on 21 March, while the test was made in Lviv (Ukraine) on 20 March. Thus, the verifications were extended and as a result, the test proved to be fake.
After being heard, the man said that he would have made the test through intermediaries against a sum of 200 euros. If found guilty, the man will be punished under the legislation in force.
