Over 16,000 citizens called for ambulance last week

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/- On 15-21 March, 16571 requests for emergency medical assistance were registered at the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance. 6,283 patients, including 671 children were transported to hospitals in the country.
According to the Center, in the top of the requests continue to predominate those caused by respiratory emergencies - 6,013 requests, followed by cardiovascular emergencies - 2,918 including 54 patients with acute coronary syndrome and neurological emergencies - 1,906 requests, including 237 strokes.
During the same period, 821 calls were received at the Emergency Service due to various injuries. During this period, 35 road accidents were registered, as a result of which 46 people suffered, including seven minors. Subsequently, AMU teams transported 30 patients to hospital emergency units for additional medical care.
