Negotiations on draft Free Trade Agreement with EFTA countries start in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - The first round of negotiations on the draft Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) are held in videoconference format on 23-25 March 2021. The Moldovan team of negotiators is led by a state secretary at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), Iuliana Dragalin.
Within the first round of talks, the discussions will be focused on the legal and institutional provisions, commerce with goods and services, facilitating the trade and the customs cooperation, origin rules, technical obstacles to trade, copyrights, sustainable development, as well as the improvement of the conditions of cooperation in the private sector.
„The importance of this Agreement represents an imperative step for boosting the bilateral cooperation between our countries. An efficient cooperation, based on the continuation and development of the mutually advantageous collaboration and is clearly a long-term interest of all sides,’’ Iuliana Dragalin said.
The signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the EFTA states will contribute to the strengthening of the commercial and economic relations between the sides, will facilitate the access to new markets and will attract investments in the main sectors of work in Moldova.
