As many as 1,621 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of  4,822 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,621 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which six import ones. As many as 217,715 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.    

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 42 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians - 11, medical assistants –10 and auxiliary staff -21.

As many as 4,605 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 344 are in extremely serious condition (59 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 11,983 persons are treated at home with easy and moderate forms of coronavirus and 21,343 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,755 people have been treated. As many as 191,630 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 32 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 4,623 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus also killed a physician dentist from the Republican Stomatological Polyclinic. So far, 103 medical employees have died because of the coronavirus infection till present.
