Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today had a discussion with representatives of the most important Christian religious cults from Moldova. The acting PM described the present epidemiological as worrying and called for mutual cooperation and support.
„Unfortunately, the number of cases of new infections is further high, no matter the restrictions imposed. Taking into account that important holidays for Christian are nearing, it is necessary that we give a helping hand together, in order to combat the spread of the virus. We must find a compromise way, so that we do not allow the agglomeration of churches, especially during the officiating of religious services, continuously monitor the observance of the epidemiological norms, try to maximally avoid the increase in the number of infections and take care of the citizens,’’ the acting prime minister said.
The representatives of the Christian religious cults attending the meeting expressed concern about the worsening of the epidemiological situation in Moldova and showed openness for cooperation, in order to improve it. At the same time, the participants in the meeting agreed on continuing the dialogue, in order to identify, by common consent, the best formulas for stopping the extension of the pandemic in Moldova. In the context, the church empowered representatives informed that they would urge the parishioners to strictly observe the sanitary protection rules in the public space and during the religious events.
