Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Employment / ANOFM / has recently presented the labor market forecast for 2021 and the Barometer of employment opportunities, including given the crisis caused by Covid-19.

According to the study, the labor shortage will continue this year, the main reason being the lack of qualified staff, small number of applicants and impossibility to provide necessary salary. Research also shows that in 2021, the number of employees will increase slightly compared to 2020, creating employment opportunities for programmers, doctors, nurses, sales operators, seamstresses, drivers, telecommunications operators, electric gas welders etc.

The short-term labor market forecast was set up following a survey of 2,949 employers in various branches of the national economy, of which 74.3% are from private sector, 18.7% from public sector, and 7% are companies with another form of ownership, the largest share being employers with less than 50 employees (about 68%). The largest share in the sample, according to economic activities, belongs to economic agents in wholesale and retail trade 28%, followed by manufacturing 11%.

The results of the study conducted by ANOFM experts serve to assess the changes that will take place in the labor market, informing graduates of gymnasiums and high schools about the priority professions required on the labor market, including career guidance. Also, the study will serve to identify the number of people to be trained in vocational training courses for the unemployed, as well as to plan the activity of the National Agency and territorial subdivisions, including financial planning.
