Charges brought against two Moldovan MPs

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - Charges were brought against MPs Petru Jardan and Denis Ulanov, after they had been stripped off parliamentary immunity two days ago. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office heard them as defendants.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, prosecutors submitted two approaches on the preventive arrest of the two suspects for 30 days, with the court due to fix the date and hour of their consideration. Both defendants plead not guilty.
The two lawmakers were detained on 22 March, after the parliament had lifted their parliamentary immunity, at a demand by Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo.
Materials show that Denis Ulanov is charged with ‘’swindle’’ and ‘’money laundering’’ in the ‘’bank fraud’’ file and Petru Jardan is accused of ‘’abuse of office’’ in the file on the granting of the Chisinau International Airport.
