Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/- The Republic of Moldova will switch to summer time on 28 March, the last Sunday of the month. The clocks will be changed one hour before and on Saturday night to Sunday, 2:00 will become 3:00.
The transition to summer time aims to make the most of sunlight in April - October. At the same time, several specialists in medicine and psychology claim that the transition to summer time can influence the health and mental state of many people, especially those suffering from chronic diseases. According to them, in the few days that will determine the transition from winter to summer, more rest and adequate nutrition are recommended.
Switching to summer time is carried out in accordance with UN European Economic Commission's proposal and together with the member states of the European Union.
In March 2019, MEPs voted to give up changing the time in the European Union starting in 2021. This will allow each EU member state to choose whether to stay in the "summer" or "winter" permanent hours ( standard time).
