Platform for organic farming studies launched in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRRES/- Farmers will have the opportunity to attend for free a video lesson course focused on organic farming principles, set up for the first time in the country. The course can be found on a platform, created by the Employers' Association Alliance of value chain in organic farming in Moldova (MOVCA).
The course was worked out by a team of nine national and two international experts, and the lessons are taught by teachers and practitioners with experience in organic farming in our country, including farmers and experts of certification bodies. So far, more than 700 users have registered on the platform, almost half of whom are farmers. Among the users are students, partners, teachers, service providers, consumers.
For the first two thousand users, registered on the platform www.studii.movca.md, access to the full course Principles of organic farming worth 199 euros will be free.
The project aims at providing training in organic farming to farmers, teachers and students in educational institutions, as well as consumers. The main objectives of the course are the development of agricultural enterprises, increasing the volume of harmless agri-food products, expanding this sector. An important goal is to solve global problems based on the concept of climate-intelligent innovative agroecology.
The platform was launched within the project Educational e-learning portal in organic farming. It is funded by the Global Environment Facility's Small Grants Program and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The US Agency for International Development (USAID) Farmer-to-Farmer Program also contributed financially to the project.
