Romanian president awards personalities from Moldova

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has awarded the anniversary medal, Great Union Centenary, to more personalities of Moldova who work in the culture sector, according to AGERPRES, quoted by MOLDPRES.

The distinction was offered on the occasion of the marking of the 100th anniversary of the Chisinau-based Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, as well as on the occasion of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Romania and Moldova, as a token of appreciation for the effort made to preserve the national identity and spread the national Romanian values, according to a press release by the Bucharest Presidential Administration.

The personalities awarded are: the editor-in-chief of the Romanian Language culture and science magazine, Alexandru Bantos, the artistic director and the first conductor of the Lautarii (The Fiddlers) National Folk Music Orchestra, Nicolae Botgros, teacher, historian, director of the History and Ethnography Museum from Soroca, Nicolae Bulat, the mayor of the Straseni town, Valentina Casian, writer, journalist, commentator at the Free Europe Radio, Vitalie Ciobanu, historian, director History Institute of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences, Gheorghe Cojocaru, actor and stage manager, president of the Moldovan Theatrical Union Alexandru Grecu, stage manager Petru Hadarca, historian Vladimir Mischevca, the executive director of the Vatra Neamului complex, Viorica Moraru, political figure, historian Ion Negrei, political analyst Nicolae Negru, the director of Moldova’s National Library, Elena Pintilei, the chief editor of Moldova’s Official Journal, Simion Ropot,  physician, writer Teodora Rotaru, a promoter of the restoration of the historical monuments erected in 1918-1940, Iulian Rusanovschi, researcher bibliographer Maria Sargun, musician, head of the Stefan Voda ethnic and folkloric band, Tudor Ungureanu, the chief executive officer of the Litera Editorial Group, president of the European Cultural Institute Anatol Vidrascu, the director of Moldova’s National Art Museum, Tudor Zbarnea.
