Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - The documentary film titled, Grădina Sovietică (The Soviet Garden), shot in Moldova, directed by Dragos Turea, participates in the BEAST International Film festival from Porto, Portugal, in the Doc Highlights programme.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, film director Dragos Turea said that he was set to soon distribute the documentary The Soviet Garden on TV channels in Moldova. ‘’I think that it would be good for the people to know the truth about the secret experiments, which took place here, in Moldova. This is a story similar to the one of Chernobyl. Namely therefore, we compare Moldova’s fate from the former times with the one of an agricultural Chernobyl,’’ Turea noted.
The Soviet Garden had an international premiere at the Sarajevo International Film Festival in 2019. Since then, the documentary has participated in numerous international film festivals from about 20 countries of the world. In 2020, at the Gala of Cinema Men from Moldova, the documentary got the title of the best full-length film, the best scenario and the special mention for original music. The documentary was awarded an honorific mention at the Uranium Film Festival from Germany.
