Moldovan government to allocate 56 million lei for allowances to employees infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The acting cabinet, at a today’s meeting, ruled to allocate financial means for providing one-off allowances to the medical staff infected with COVID-19.
„As much as 56,160 thousand lei is earmarked from the government’s intervention fund to the central and local public administration authorities to provide one-off allowances to the medical employees infected with COVID-19,’’ the government decision reads.
The money will be distributed to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), Interior Ministry, Justice Ministry, local councils from Moldova, executive body of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. The employees infected with COVID-19 at the working place, under the legislation, will receive a one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei.
The public authorities provided for in the document, as beneficiaries of the financial means allocated, bear responsibility for the data unveiled and will compile, in the way established, the documents needed for the financing of the concerned expenses, through the institutions where the people work. MSMPS will inform the local public administration authorities about the nominal list of the beneficiaries of one-off allowances, according to the provisions of this decision.
The present decision enters into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal.
