Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Supreme Security Council (CSS) has recommended that the cabinet of ministers introduces a temporary ban on the export of cereals. President Maia Sandu made statements to this effect at the end of the CSS meeting.
The president said that, on the last period, cereals had been exported from the stock which was to be renewed and an investigation was to be started on this case. ‘’An investigation will be started on the process through which the Materials Agency ruled to sell a part of the wheat which was to be renewed, to the detriment of the interests of Moldova’s domestic market,’’ Sandu said.
„Given that some institutions failed to fulfill their duties, I recommended that the government introduces a temporary ban on the export of wheat,’’ the Moldovan president noted.
The head of state also said that a subject dealing with Moldova’s property in Ukraine had been on the agenda of the today’s CSS meeting.
