Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/- Government's decision to earmark over 56 million lei for benefits for medical staff infected with COVID-19 was published in the Official Journal today.

"It is allocated from the government intervention fund 56 160.0 thousand lei to central and local public administration authorities for granting one-off allowances to medical staff infected with COVID-19", the decision reads.

The money will be distributed to the Ministries of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Internal Affairs, Justice, local councils in the country, Gagauz executive. Employees infected with COVID-19 at work, according to the legislation, will receive one-off allowance worth 16 thousand lei.

The public authorities named in the document, as beneficiaries of the allocated funds are responsible for the data presented and will set up as stipulated the documents for financing the expenses through the institutions in which the people operate. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection will inform the local public administration authorities about the nominal list of beneficiaries of one-off benefits, according to the decision.

The decision entered into force today with publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova.
