Second phase of anti-COVID-19 vacination starts in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS) informs that the campaign of vaccination against COVID-19 has been extended for the people older than 60 years and the ones with comorbidities.
According to MSMPS data, to efficiently organize the vaccination process, the National Public Health Agency (ANSP) distributed 14,400 doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine to the public medical and sanitary institutions from the territory, from the consignment of 50,400 doses of AstraZeneca, donated by Romania. The rest of the vaccines are secured for the administration of the dose to the people who were vaccinated with the first dose.
Thus, the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will be extended for the following target groups, included in the second vaccination, such as: the adults older than 60 years, the people with comorbidities (high risk groups) and the people with comorbidities, aged between 18 and 60 years, for whom the COVID-19 poses a high risk of the serious forms and death.
According to MSMPS, concomitantly, the vaccination of the medical employees from the medical and sanitary institutions will continue, including of the personnel/beneficiaries from the asylums and temporary or long-term placement centres.
Official data shows that 38,643 people have been vaccinated against COVID-019 so far.
