Fishing in natural water basins prohibited in Moldova from 1 April

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- Today fishing ban regime enters into force in the Republic of Moldova. The process will take place in accordance with the order of the Environment Agency on periods and areas of prohibition of fishing in natural fish aquatic objectives in 2021.

According to the document, the periods and zones of prohibition of sport, amateur and recreational fishing for all species of hydrobionts in natural aquatic fishing objectives are established, as follows: for 75 consecutive days, from April 1 to June 14, 2021 inclusive , in the Dniester River on the sector from the village of Naslavcea to the town of Camenca; in the Dubasari reservoir; in the Dniester River in the sectors from the dam of the Dubasari Hydroelectric Power Plant to the village of Palanca (km 28) and in the Turunciuc branch; in Lake Cahul.

Also, fishing is prohibited for 75 consecutive days, from April 1 to June 14, 2021 inclusive, in the Prut River from its intersection with the northern border of the Republic of Moldova with Ukraine to the village of Tccani; in the Costeşti-Stânca accumulation lake; in the Prut River on the sector from the dam of the Costeşti-Stânca hydrotechnical node to the village of Giurgiulești.

According to the Contravention Code, the violation of the rules for the protection of fishery resources is sanctioned with a fine from 10 to 20 conventional units applied to the natural person, with a fine from 200 to 300 conventional units, applied to the legal person; violation of fishing rules, except for fishing in aquatic objectives under private management, if the act does not constitute a crime is sanctioned with a fine from 5 to 10 conventional units applied to the natural person, with a fine from 200 to 300 conventional units applied to the legal person.

At the same time, according to the Criminal Code, “illegal occupation of fishing, hunting or other water exploitation, with the use of explosive and poisonous substances or other means of mass destruction of wildlife, if it has caused damage exceeding 200 conventional units , shall be punished by a fine in the amount of 200 to 700 conventional units or by unpaid community service from 180 to 240 hours or by imprisonment for up to 5 years, and the legal person shall be punished by a fine in the amount of 1,000 to 3,000 conventional units with deprivation of the right to carry out a certain activity.
