Moldovan writer hopes in better, nicer future

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prose writer, publicist, holder of the Mihai Eminescu Medal Victor Prohin hopes that the future will be nicer than the past and the present. Presently, the writer works on a book about humorists, epigrammatists, caricaturist, parodists from Moldova.
Academician Mihai Cimpoi said that „Victor Prohin has a much higher artistic level than his exemplary modesty. He is a lyric with epic aspects, which are manifested in his short, but dense prose works.
Victor Prohin was born in Vindrei, Torbeevo district, Mordovia Republic, Russia, on 2 October 1942. Since the age of three years, Victor Prohin was brought up in the Lencauti village, northern Ocnita district, Moldova. He finished the secondary schools from the Verejeni village, Ocnita district in 1960. And then he graduated from the Philology Faculty of the Moldovan State University in 1965.
Prohin worked as deputy editor-in-chief of the Chiparus magazine, editorial secretary, deputy editor-in-chief of the Nistru-Basarabia magazine, head of section at the Moldova Suverana newspaper. He debuted with prose works in 1969. In 1985-1990, Victor Prohin was lawmaker in the Supreme Soviet (legislative body) of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic.
