Moldovan speaker meets Russian envoy

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii had a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetov this morning, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The diplomat informed the speaker about the decision of the Russian authorities to provide Moldova with a batch of 180 thousand doses of coronavavirus vaccine, as humanitarian assistance.
Also, Oleg Vasnetsov informed about the examination by the Russian side of the decision to reserve for our country a quantity of 500 thousand doses for purchase in the shortest time.
Both decisions come in response to the 26 February official request by Zinaida Greceanii to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Greceanii thanked the leadership and the entire Russian people for the prompt decision to help Moldova in an extremely difficult period.
"Again as always done in various difficult situations faced by the Moldovan people, the Russian Federation has shown a true brotherly spirit. This fact is appreciated by the authorities and Moldovan people", Greceanii said.
The speaker voiced hope that the vaccines from Russia will save many lives and allow Moldova to return to normal life as soon as possible.
The speaker sent to the diplomat the letter of thanks addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
