Private hospitals to be involved in fighting COVID-19 during state of emergency

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/- Strengthening the capacity of the healthcare system is one of the provisions of Instruction No1 of 1 April of the Commission for Emergencies (CSE). According to acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, CSE head, for the state of emergency decreed for 1 April - 30 May, there will be the obligation of private hospitals to get involved in the fight against COVID-19 to take the burden on the public medical system.

„Heads of the republican, municipal or district public medical institutions, as well as the administrators of the private medical service providers are obliged to ensure deploying all employees to the public medical institutions with COVID-19 based on the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection”, the CSE instruction reads.

Under the document, the remuneration of deployed medical workers in public medical institutions with COVID-19 will be fully performed by employers at the place of service / basic work, with full payment, according to employment contracts and law.

The Ministry of Health, Labor, Social Protection will identify within a week the additional need for medical services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 infection and the private medical institutions that will provide them.

The provisions of the Commission for Emergencies are binding and enforceable for the heads of central and local public administration authorities, economic agents, public institutions, as well as for citizens and other persons in Moldova. All provisions issued by the CSE shall enter into force upon issue.
