Illumination system of central park inaugurated in central Moldova town

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - The public illumination system from the central park of the central Nisporeni town, set with the support of the Agency for Energy Efficiency (AEE), was inaugurated today. On this occasion, an innovation project was launched, titled, Implementation of the Smart City concept through setting benches with incorporated photovoltaic panels with supply with solar energy, which sees the setting of two intelligent benches in the square of the Wind Mill historical monument, placed in the central park of Nisporeni.     

The project’s works provided for the setting of 84 LED-type bodies, as well as provision with the needed equipment for the creation of the infrastructure, for the work of the illumination system in the Nisporeni town.   

Also, the implementation of the Smart City concept implies the setting of two incorporated benches with photovoltaic panels with a power of 110 W, able to transform the solar energy into electric energy. The intelligent bench has SMART solutions, such as: USB connection for charging mobile phones, Wi-Fi router for free of charge connection to the Internet public network; at the same time, it has a specialized software, which allows the collection, systematization and analysis of the data on temperature (-45 Celsius degrees, +60 degrees), humidity (0 per cent-100 per cent), online data transfer to end users. The bench consumes between 6 and 10 W, which is estimated that the energy supplied in the network will be of 2.7 KW/hour per month in winter and 19.3 KW/hour in the summer period.    

In the last years, types of benches have been set in more settlements from all over the world, among which Singapore municipality, the Dubai police and Moldova is the 56th destination for intelligent benches.   

The project on the setting of the illumination system in the Nisporeni town is worth 1.63 million lei. The contract on grant was signed within the appeal on proposals of projects No 7 in the field of renewable energy sources as to the promotion of technologies of turning to account the solar energy through the financing of demonstrative projects.
