Revenues worth 16.7 billion lei collected in Moldova's national public budget in first three months of 2021

Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - Revenues worth 16.7 billion lei were collected in the national public budget in the first three months of 2021, up by 1.7 billion lei against the same period of the year before. The spending stood at 17.3 billion lei, which is by 1.8 billion lei higher against the same period of 2020, the Finance Ministry has reported.     

According to the ministry, the fulfillment of the national public budget ended with a deficit worth 563.4 million lei. The balances of the financial means in the accounts of the component budgets of the national public budgets amounted to 8.3 billion lei.    

At the same time, the state budget’s revenues in the first three months of this year stood at 10.5 billion lei. The revenues increased by 1.2 billion lei against the same period of 2020.  

„The revenues managed by the State Fiscal Service amounted to 5 billion lei, by 685.1 million lei more against the same period of the 2020 year. At the same time, the revenues managed by the Customs Service amounted to 5.8 billion lei, up by 413.5 million lei against the same period of the last year. The state budget’s expenses were fulfilled in an amount of 11.7 billion lei, which is by 1.5 billion lei more against the same period of 2020. The fulfillment of the state budget ended with a deficit of 1.2 billion lei. The balances of the financial means in the state budget’s accounts amounted to 5.3 billion lei,’’ the quoted source said.     

The Finance Ministry ensured the fulfillment of all payment commitments for January-March his year, with all payments fully financed, according to a press release of the ministry.  

‘’Under the law on public money and the budgetary and fiscal responsibility, priority represents the fulfillment of the obligations of servicing the state external and domestic debt, as well as the payment of salaries, pensions and social benefits. We also reiterate that there are no risks of non-fulfilling the priority expenses approved in the budget, given that the budget has enough financial resources and permanently provides a prudent management of liquidities,’’ the Finance Ministry’s communiqué also reads.
