Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- The Customs Service with the support of the Program of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Structural Reforms in Moldova launched today digital module e-transport bill. It will replace the document, issued so far on paper, and will improve the provision of one of the most important customs services in the country.

"The customs administration is an area in continuous development and modernization, or this fact requires the adoption of a new active approach in all sectors of the Customs Service to facilitate and secure trade, especially by digitizing customs services and applying paperless electronic environment," Customs Service director Sergiu Burduja said.

The electronic module is a tool that facilitates the work of customs officials, by simplifying to the maximum the formalities and supervision of goods transported on the customs territory of Moldova. "This will have a good impact on the business environment, for which we know that accelerating the flow of goods is of major importance. The further development and implementation of modern customs instruments is crucial for us to build together with our partners in the Republic of Moldova a developed society, where advanced technologies are part of everyday life ", said Sergiu Burduja.

"The launch of this module is part of the latest initiatives to restructure and modernize the Moldovan Customs Service, which was carried out by the USAID project. From our side we provided the necessary software, receiving all the technical and physical assistance from our Moldovan colleagues. The bill that allows the transit of goods on the territory of the Republic of Moldova was previously the only one used on paper, in triplicate, now it goes online. However, this will significantly reduce working time, increase work efficiency and ensure the transparency of the issuance of the document. We have a good collaboration with the Customs Service, we will be with the institution to contribute to the improvement, updating, modernization and other products ", said Douglas Muir, director of the USAID Structural Reforms Program in Moldova.

The transport bill is a customs document of strict evidence, used for ensuring the customs supervision of goods and means of transport in transit operations on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The use of the transport slip provides for a simplified procedure and, unlike other transit procedures, does not imply the need to lodge a guarantee.
