Moldovan literary critic, historian marks birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - A literary critic and historian, PhD in philology Ana Bantos marks her 70th birthday anniversary.
Ana Bantos was born in the Chirianca village, central Straseni district, on 7 April 1951. She studied at the Philology Faculty of the Moldovan State University (USM) in 1968-1973. In 1998, Bantos got the title of doctor in philology at the A.I. Cuza University from Iasi, Romania, with a monograph about the Bessarabian Romanian poetry and in 2010 – the title of PhD at the Philology Institute of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences (ASM), with a monograph about the Romanian literature from the post-war Bessarabia.
Ana Bantos worked at the ASM Philology Institute since 1973. She was adviser of the education minister during 2016-2018.
Bantos debuted with a work titled Creație și atitudine (Creation and Attitude) in 1985. She published about 300 articles and studies, some of which were translated in French, Russian, Italian, Lithuanian and Hungarian.
Ana Bantos was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the ASM Presidium in 2001, Diploma of the Education Ministry (2011), the Prize of the Moldovan Writers’ Union (2001, 2007), Prize of the Romanian Writers’ Union (2011), Prize of Excellence of the Moldovan Writers’ Union (2011), etc. She also holds the Order of Honour of Moldova (2010) and the Cultural Merit Order in rank of Officer, A Category, Literature, on behalf of Romania’s president (2019).
