State to compensate 100 per cent medicines of Covid patients treated at home, under new decision of Moldova's Commission for Emergency Situations

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today chaired a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE). The participants in the event revised some restrictive actions earlier approved and introduced new measures, aimed at backing the citizens and the business environment of Moldova.   

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the CSE’s new decision establishes that the presence of groups not larger than three persons, except for the members of a family, is allowed in parks or leisure zones. At the same time, CSE noted that the rules of crossing Moldova’s state border, stipulated in the Decision No 51 of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP) from 19 March, would be enforced.

An important decision approved by CSE today provides for the extension of the list of compensated medicines for the treatment of patients with light and medium-seriousness forms of COVID-19, in ambulatory conditions. This means that the patients who are treated at home will receive compensated medicines at a level of 100 per cent, earlier being of 70 per cent. All people will benefit from compensated medication, including those who do not have the mandatory health insurance policy. The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS) will work out a mechanism of delivery of compensated medicines at home through medical and social assistants.  

At the same time, the local public authorities of the first and second levels will undertake measures of social support of the people at risk, those with disabilities and elderly people, through the involvement of community social assistants, social employees and volunteers among the residents.   

The CSE members approved a string of actions, in order to back the economic agents. Thus, the period of implementation of the programme on subsidizing the interests of the programme on reimbursement of the Value Added Tax (VAT) will be extended till 31 May 2021.   

„We also approved other simplified rules in the fiscal administration, which will support the business environment on this difficult period. It is quite important that we create the conditions necessary for boosting Moldova’s economy, including in the situation of the emergency state which we face,’’ acting PM Aureliu Ciocoi said.   

Also, CSE approved an exception as to the education process; the organization of the training probationary will be allowed in the vocational and higher education institutions for the pupils and students of the graduate groups. At the same time, sportspeople will be able to resume the trainings for preparing for international tournaments, with the compulsory observance of all sanitary and epidemiological norms; CSE also allowed the holding of sports competitions in open air, organized by the national federations accredited by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, without audience.
