Moldovan tax body asks people earning from gambling to pay taxes

Chisinsau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/- The State Tax Service urged taxpayers who get income from gambling and / or sports betting through electronic communications networks to voluntarily comply with the legislation in force.

According to the Fiscal Code, the gain obtained through electronic communications networks is the total amount withdrawn from the game account. Accordingly, the incomes by private people through electronic communication network are subject to taxation by 12%.

At the same time, the Tax Service reminds that under the amendments to the legislation, from 1 January 2021, the Criminal Code was supplemented with the article: Violation of legislation on organization and conduct of gambling that is a state monopoly.
