Cahul district participates in cross-border project to promote tourism

Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/- A cross-border project on development and promotion of green tourism in Danube sector of the Black Sea basin (Cahul district, Moldova, Reni municipality, Ukraine and Galati county, Romania) takes place in December 2020 -June 2023, being implemented by IDIS Viitorul in partnership with the Cahul district council, Reni city hall and Dunărea de Jos University of Galați.
The goals of the project, presented yesterday at the launch conference are related to the development and promotion of green cross-border tourism for obtaining mutual socio-economic benefits by the communities in the Black Sea basin on the Danube sector Galați-Cahul-Reni.
According to deputy head of Cahul district Valentina Shevcenco, the project will contribute to improving the tourist potential of Cahul district. "Tourist places in Cahul have an invaluable value and it is strictly necessary to be used and promoted," said Valentina Shevcenco.
The cross-border project is part of the Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020. It is co-financed by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument and participating countries: Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
