Chisinau, 9 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Organization for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM) today launched a virtual exhibition, SMExpo 2021, on the platform www.virtual-fairs.md. This is the second exhibition in online format on this resource.
SMExpo 2021 is the event set to present the small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from all sectors of Moldova’s economy for an audience abroad, which would lead to the facilitation of the global business’ activity, increasing the number of contacts and new contacts, as well as finding new clients and providers. ‘’SMEs is a quite important sector of the Moldovan economy and it needs support, being one of the most vulnerable in the conditions of the pandemic crisis,’’ CCI president Sergiu Harea said.
Harea noted that, following the first virtual exhibition, staged in December 2020, more and more economic agents asked for activities of this kind, in order to be efficiently promoted in the pandemic conditions.
For her part, the ODIMM director, Iulia Costin, said that the sector of small- and medium-sized enterprises was the most valuable economic potential of Moldova, with a share of 98 per cent and which creates over 60 per cent of the jobs. ‘’The SMEs sector must be promoted and turned to account on all dimensions. In Moldova, we have companies which can cope with the market’s requirements, are competitive and many of them already have a name abroad,’’ Costin specified.
The enterprises willing to participate in SMExpo 2021 can register till 31 May. The participation tax is of 2,000 lei, which will be compensated by ODIMM, so that the companies can focus, as priority, on the content and image within the exhibition.
The platform of virtual exhibitions from Moldova, www.virtual-fairs.md, was launched last summer, as a measure of response for the companies interested in the novelties as regards the products and services in Moldova and abroad, in the pandemic’s context, when more exhibition events cannot be held.
The platform’s concept was initiated and developed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is carried out with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation within the project, Optim – Opportunities through Technologies and Innovations in Moldova, implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, in partnership with CCI.
